Kathleen O’Hara

Kathleen O’Hara, MA LPC is an international psychotherapist with over 26 years of experience helping individuals, couples and families face the challenges of the 21st century. She provides tailored, strategic problem-solving solutions to communication, mental health and crisis management Issues.
Kathleen is an expert in helping people build and implement better communication skills, creates treatment plans for trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, traumatic bereavement and provides crisis management during difficult times, such as the sudden death of a family member or head of business. She helps executives deal with high-stress using innovative strategies to manage and restructure responses to stress and anxiety and teaches simple, effective mindfulness skills. Kathleen works with the Next Gen, providing guidance on transitions in succession as well as identity, social anxiety and personal development issues. She offers tailored retreats to explore these topics in depth. Kathleen designs and delivers innovative seminars for trusts, law firms, and private banking to help professionals understand and help their clients with family and next gen issues. She has been a guest panelist for Campden Wealth at their global conferences.
Kathleen is the author of A Grief Like No Other, Surviving the Violent Death of Someone You Love, (Perseus 2006), a classic resource on Traumatic Bereavement also translated into Korean.
In her advocacy work, Kathleen has contributed to policy and programme development for Victim Service Organizations in the United States, Europe and Asia. She is a consultant for the Federal Office for Victims of Crime in the United States Department of Justice. In 2016 and 2017, she spoke at the United Nations in New York for the first and second International Day for Women and Girls in Science, addressing the Global Mental Health Issues and the Media and Gender Stereotypes of Women and Girls in Science.
